Alison Wray

Alison is a fulltime Paediatric Neurosurgeon and Director of Neurosurgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

Originally from New Zealand she trained in Auckland and Melbourne and undertook paediatric fellowships at Necker and the Royal Children’s Hospital. It was her interest in paediatric neurosurgery that drove her migration to Australia where she has lived with her family for the past 21 years.

Her clinical work includes neuro-oncology, craniofacial surgery, epilepsy surgery, movement disorders surgery, vascular neurosurgery and congenital malformations.

Alison has a passion for teaching and supporting young neurosurgeons and has been faculty on the Asian Australasian Advance Course in Paediatric neurosurgery since 2010. She is proud of the Fellowship program at RCH which has supported many young neurosurgeons, especially from the Asian Australasian region, with their careers. Alison has recently finished 8 years of service on the Board of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and has served on executive committees for the AASPN and recently joined the ways and means committee of the ISPN.
