Professor Dr. Graciela Zuccaro received her Medical Degree in 1973 from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1998, Title of Specialist in Neurosurgery and PhD in Surgery granted by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires.
In 1998 she began her teaching career, and in 2002 became associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the UBA.
Her hospital career began in 1978 at Ricardo Gutierrez Children´s Hospital in Buenos Aires. In 1988, at Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan National Hospital of Pediatrics in Buenos Aires, becoming Head of the Neurosurgery Service in 2003
Attended over 80 courses, presented 152 papers in National Congresses and 92 in International Congresses, published 56 papers in National and International Journals and participated as an exhibitor in over 140 National and International Congresses.
Author of 11 chapters in books of the specialty. Associate Editor of many international journals, including the Child´s Nervous System.
In 2009 joined the Executive Board of the ISPN, becoming President in 2015. Founder of the Latin American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, and a full member of numerous national and international scientific societies of the specialty.
Graciela has received over 21 awards amongst them: Annual Award Dr. Raúl Carrea of the Argentine Association of Neurosurgery, the KONEX AWARD 2013 – IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY for best trajectory in the Area of Surgery for the last 10 years in Buenos Aires, Legends of Neurosciences Award in Mexico 2021.
